Bring together the best scientists, doctors and investors in an intimate setting to help facilitate the success of the project. Create opportunities to network outside of the meeting.

Our Solution:

Steve Case, former AOL CEO, had clearly defined the outcomes he desired from this meeting. We searched for a luxury hotel that felt secluded but was close to LAX as International guests would be attending. Making it convenient for the attendee was important as they are in demand and volunteering their time. We selected the St. Regis Monarch Bay and the property was perfect for the group. We created opportunities for the attendees to spend time together when the meetings were over.  One evening we brought in Alex Filippenko, a world-renowned research astrophysicist who helped discover the accelerating expansion of the Universe, which won the Nobel Prize.
 

The Outcome:

Steve Case was thrilled with the attendance, content, and the environment we created to promote the sharing of ideas and experience.  Since this meeting, Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure has provided more than $20 million in research funding to highly qualified research investigators and physician-scientists from 42 institutions.

The client has customers from all over the U.S. that attend their conference.  We were hired to make this conference unique to Los Angeles and provide a memorable experience.

Our Solution:

We bought out the Getty Museum for an evening and created an “Evening under the Stars” theme event in the inner outside courtyard. During the evening there were different entertainers, wide variety of Los Angeles cuisine and touring of the museum. We custom designed activities for the attendees during the non-conference days allowing each person to select how active their day would be and made sure to show the best of Southern California in one day.
 

The Outcome:

The attendees said it was the most amazing opportunity to have an exclusive evening at such a magnificent venue. It provided the most time for networking at any of the conferences and great business and personal relationships were formed. Our clients were given high praise from the executives for capturing the L.A. experience.

Chrysler Launch Event

Location: Staples Center

Client's Need:

The client needed to unveil the new line of SRT (Street and Racing Technology) cars at the L.A. Autoshow. They wanted an event close to Staples Center so it was an easy walk for the guests. It was important to Chrysler that their SRT brand was understood by the attendees.

Our solution:

We rented the parking lot across the street and installed a huge tent.  We designed stages with cars, lounges, seating for the presentation and all the ballyhoo with lighting to set the stage for the CEO to introduce their new line. To create the right ambience we enlisted a famous female DJ that spun mellow grooves until the party ended.
 

The Outcome:

The attendance was high and guests were very impressed with the vehicles and the event. The client appreciated that we were able to see the big picture and handle all the elements needed for a flawless event. The press on the new cars was tremendous.

Exploratorium Opening Gala

Location: San Francisco

Client's Need:

The Exploratorium built a $300 million dollar facility on Pier 15 and needed an opening Gala and Fundraising Event. They needed this event to be unlike any San Francisco had seen. The donor and socialite attendees go to numerous events so this one needed to be special and unique. This needed to be an incredible event that showcases the Exploratorium and exhibits.

Our Solution:

The facility was large, but it was important for us to create intimate areas for the attendees. We brought together the top 27 interior designers in San Francisco and gave each of them a lounge that they would theme and furnish. California Host designed three different entertainment areas and brought “The Earth Harp” to San Francisco for the first time. We attached the strings of the harp 100 feet up to the ceiling so as the harpist played it resonated through the structure. Another room featured Capital Cities performing and the last room had local favorites Tainted Love. This was a progressive party that moved throughout the venue to have many reveals.
 

The Outcome:

The event was a huge success. The lounges created the perfect atmosphere for friends to be able to relax and hold conversations. The entertainment was spot on. The Exploratorium raised more money than anticipated. The VIP guests left the event saying “I can't wait to see what they do next year.”

Emirates Road Show

Location: Fairmont Hotel, San Jose

Client's Need:

To bring 650 of the top travel agents to an event to introduce Emirates, Dubai and the new service from SFO to Dubai. The hotel, food, entertainment and décor needed to showcase the high level Emirates operates at and the attention to detail they are known for. The guests needed to experience Emirates without leaving the ground.

Our Solution:

We partnered with The Fairmont Hotel in San Jose to produce this event. We designed the stage scenic and décor to match their brand. The client selected Bill Rancic & California Host to create menus with Emirates Executive Chefs and the Fairmont to give the guests a true taste of the experience. There were over 140 different food items at this event. The band SRO performed while the group danced. 
 

The Outcome:

Through a strategically planned invite/RSVP process, we had all but 4 guests attend that had confirmed. The hotel was perfect and the branding highlighted the rooms. The stage scene was epic and the production was flawless. Guests were blown away by the huge variety of food selections at one event. Everyone at the event received the Emirates experience and left excited about the opportunity to book flights on Emirates. We have since produced 12 events for Emirates Airline.

Disney/Raiders Games

Client’s Need:

For a second year in a row Disney/Pixar has hired California Host to create a presence for their companies at every Raiders home game and to promote the most recent Pixar film. We provide ideas for décor, entertainment for the children, and the overall layout/look for each game. 

Our Solution:

To promote Disney/Pixar’s recent film, Cars 3, California Host put together a unique promotional event for each game. These included a racecar track, jumbo slide, coloring station where children could decorate hats and bandanas, bungee-strapped trampoline, and face painting.

Disney was very happy with our game-day events—both inside the stadium and out.

Google

Location: Foundation Room, Las Vegas, NV

Client’s Need: 

To host an International group for an event after a conference. They needed to draw guests away from other established events. Convey the culture of the company through this event. Make sure it is cutting edge, professional and matches the younger attendees they seek.

Our Solution: 

California Host selected The Foundation Room atop Mandalay Bay and created different themes in each of the rooms. We used minimal branding except for custom visual shows in the rooms. We came up with four different drinks that played off of “Google” and their messaging for this event to appeal to these guests.
 

The Outcome: 

While the design was pretty wild, it was done professionally and was sleek. The attendance was above what the client was hoping for. Guests stayed an average of 3.5 hours at this corporate event. Normally guests go from one party to the next party. The client was very pleased that she could count on California Host in all the locations she had programs.

Client’s Need: 

The International client wanted to have a program in Las Vegas and San Francisco. The attendees have been there and done that.  They needed a “wow” factor that would put this meeting at the top of the list of best programs. They needed the best food, shows, hotels, vehicles and unique parties to impress this crowd.

Our Solution: 

We designed a 7 day program starting in San Francisco and ending in Las Vegas. We hired a private jet to fly the group from SFO. We partnered with The Wynn Hotel to supply first class accommodations. We acquired excellent seats (especially for a group this size) at the top shows.  California Host bought out The Eiffel Tower restaurant for a private dinner with the best view of the strip. Jet helicopters took them for a once in a lifetime experience in the Grand Canyon.
 

The Outcome: 

The Incentive Company that hired us won “Incentive Program of the Year” in their country.  Guests were pampered from the minute they arrived in SF until they departed home. The clients agreed it was the most exciting and impressive program they have hosted.

Location: Anaheim, CA

Client's Need:

To host a large scale event for attendees of an industry conference. To out-due their competitors that have been hosting an event on this night for many years. Create buzz for the event so the attendees chose this event.  To showcase four distinct areas of education through fun, play and information.

Our Solution:

California Host selected the parking lot of the Marriott Hotel to transform the space into a “Beach to Boardwalk” theme. We worked with the ad agency to design areas that were educational and exciting. California Host fabricated buildings and structures that were branded to fit each of these areas. We brought in real midway trailers and games and prepared healthy fare that one would find at the different Boardwalks around the country. The band flew down from San Francisco and the place was jumping.
 

The Outcome:

The client met their attendee numbers. Guests were entertained for hours. All the guests visited the four educational areas and enjoyed the variety of food options. Everyone was blown away.

Priority Group

Client's Need:

To wow and impress a group of department store owners from Ireland.  They take an annual trip and the previous years included Dubai and Japan. The client wanted 2-3 locations that they could visit in their two week trip. First Class hotels, exclusive activities and experiences the attendees could never do on their own.

Our Solution:

We designed a program that started in San Francisco, flew to Las Vegas and ended in Maui. California Host partnered with The Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Encore Hotel to provide the luxurious experiences they were looking for. We created “once in a lifetime” events in private residences and exclusive venues in Las Vegas. We reserved famous restaurants for dinners, having the celebrity chefs drop by and talk to the group. Every tour was custom designed, from the helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon, with a special lunch with the local tribe to a behind the scenes tour of a Cirque du Soleil show.
 

The Outcome:

The attendees loved the experience. The client thanked us for providing a “first class” experience to these world travelers. Las Vegas was a highlight because the attention to every detail was taken care of and guests wanted for nothing. The only problem was that California Bar raised the bar and the client would have to compete with these memories on the next year's program.

Roche

Client's Need:

To celebrate the top salespeople from Amsterdam.  They needed a beautiful city with many activities to entertain these young, active winners. There also needed to be real team building to create better relationships. The previous year was going to be tough to beat.

Our Solution:

California Host offered San Francisco as the ideal city for this incentive. We selected Hotel Vitale and held the opening reception on the rooftop overlooking the Bay. A tribal drumming expert was brought in along with hundreds of different types of drums. We combined the best of the city and it's food with a “Culinary Tour” that stopped in different neighborhoods for a taste of the area.  Guests could ride motorized cable cars, GPS GoCars, firetrucks and many other fun options. We designed a day of wine tasting in Napa Valley and included a bike rally, convertible Rolls and an outdoor lunch at Inglenook. For the final night, we produced a California Dreaming/Summer of Love theme party at Bimbo's. The guests received a box containing pants, shirts, wigs, bandanas, glasses and other items that represent the 1960's in San Francisco. We used motor coaches that had been converted to dance buses so the party could start once they get on the bus.
 

The Outcome:

The guests had the time of their life.  Every detail was handled and each day was better than the last. The drummer had the entire group ensconced in the experience of working together making music. We gave them an experience of what it was like to live in San Francisco as a local, taking them to the out of the way restaurants and bars during the tour. The experience in Napa Valley was truly unforgettable as each guest could decide how they wanted to enjoy the area. The party at Bimbo's was such a success that the entire group would not leave the dance floor for an hour after dinner was to be served.

State Fund

Client's Need:

State Fund needed to bring their leadership Team together, for the first time, in order to refine their goals and create a more cohesive team.  They needed the program to be economical for them and the attendees. Furthermore, State Fund was also introducing a new CEO to the group.

Our Solution:

We selected the Hilton Anaheim and secured excellent group rates. We leveraged the best Government rate for the rooms and food and beverage. We designed the general session to be interactive and repurposed the room for the Gala Event. At the Gala Event we brought in Illusionist Patrick Martin, who customized his show to incorporate the new CEO and theme of the conference. Every event and break was focused on developing the messages from State Fund in a comfortable environment.
 

The Outcome:

Despite this being their first group gathering, everyone left the conference motivated and ready to put their new plan into action. The Leadership team was focused, cohesive, stayed within budget, and established connections with fellow members state-wide. These factors, along with many others, are what made the conference such a huge success and has resulted in California Host being named the proprietor for the next conference to be held in San Francisco.

Client's Need:

Exhibit at the premier hospitality industry trade show. Stand out among the other meeting and event companies as a top supplier. Showcase new technologies to show that they are on the cutting edge and draw attendees into the booth. The booth needed to express the brand through sleek lines, white leather and custom furnishings. This was our third consecutive year helping Host Group plan for this trade show. 

Our Solution:

We partnered with our AV supplier, American Audio Visual Company, to create never before seen technologies. The first year we designed a 10’ tall x 4’ diameter LED column using a new technology “paper LED”. The second year we showcased Microtiles. The next year we utilized a very short-throw projector and projection screen fabric that we printed on to showcase promo videos. We designed custom couches, chairs and pedestals for the booth.
 

The Outcome:

The client had incredible booth traffic and generated three times the anticipated leads. The LED column was the hit of the entire show. Over 1,000 attendees stopped at the booth to take pictures and videos of this new technology. Even AV experts came by to see how we did a video projection with only 18” behind the screen. This turned into a multi-year program.

Client’s Need:

The client needed assistance with logistics, staffing and transportation for the company’s annual Developers Conference, and to have a party that would “out-do last year’s” (another California Host success). 

Our Solution:

After multiple venue proposals and site visits, the client chose the California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. This one-of-a-kind venue offered a living green room, an aquarium, a planetarium, a rain forest, and so much more! We incorporated a “Streets of San Francisco” food theme by setting up many impressive food stations, including a sushi bar, raw bar, Dim Sum station, and tapas station. We also filled the entire African Hall with just about every type of dessert imaginable!
 

The Outcome:

We provided executive transfers, as well as conference support staff and a fantastic evening event. The client was very pleased with our support staff, transportation services, venue selection, and all aspects of the event. We are currently scouting locations for the same event next year.

Samsung Developer Conference (Venueworld)

Client's Need:

Hold the first Samsung Developer Conference to bring in the top developers for their mobile products. They wanted the conference to fit their mobile brand and create a buzz about the conference for the next year. 
 

Our Solution:

We selected The Westin St. Francis for the conference headquarters. The hotel had many unique meeting spaces and we were able to create the general session, Android Live room, hacker's lounge and over 15 breakouts. We custom designed menus for this energetic group so they could have a tasty lunch while not missing the important content of the breakouts. The Exploratorium was selected as the off site venue. Damon Wayans spoke to the developers about the importance of the work they were doing. 
 

The Outcome:

The conference was a big success and the next year's conference had the push it needed in the developer world. The high tech guests loved the interactive exhibits, DJ and food. There were so many things to do that many guests stayed to the very end.

The Food Network "Dinner Impossible"

Client's Need:

The Food Network needed a local DMC to partner on an episode of “Dinner Impossible”. This was to be the launch of Chef Michael Simon on the show. They were looking for a location that would be nearly impossible to surpass, but also has history and was internationally recognizable.

Our Solution:

We were preparing for a dinner event on Alcatraz when we got the call. After discussing the needs of the show, we called our client to see if this could add a level of uniqueness for her attendees. The client was excited and we worked with the producers to come up with the best plan for a successful show.
 

The Outcome:

Chef Michael Simon designed a menu and worked with our team for a successful episode of “Dinner Impossible”. It was one of the highest rated episodes for The Food Network. The client was able to provide an exciting surprise for the attendees and California Host exceeded her expectations for this event.

Tag Heuer

Client's Need:

Host their top clients from around the world to America's Cup. Client wanted a luxury yacht but none were available. They needed this experience to match their high end brand.

Our Solution:

We transformed the yacht they were able to get into a first class experience. We designed and fabricated printed panels, wraps and fabrics to cover most of the areas of the yacht. We laid new carpet in the entire space and inlaid their logo.  California Host brought in sleek furnishings and created lounges and worked with the chef to create a special menu. We set up four monitors with live racing coverage and brought in a top America's Cup expert to give a play by play. We created photo ops with backdrops for memories of the trip.
 

The Outcome:

The yacht was beautiful and fit the Tag Heuer brand perfectly. The lounges created the perfect break from being on deck watching the race. The group learned about racing and had a new understanding of sailing. Guests gave their appreciation for two wonderful days on the bay. The clients thanked us for making them look good.

Visa International

Client's Need:

Visa needed to host 350 bank presidents from Latin America and to showcase their products and services to increase their business. Visa also wanted to have off site events for additional networking. Visa also needed to find an opportunity to promote the next meeting in Los Angeles.

Our Solution:

After asking the right questions we sourced The Palace Hotel to host the meeting and exhibition. This historic hotel was the perfect place for this group of bank presidents. We designed breaks and lunch in the exhibits area so that the sponsors could have as much traffic as possible. The Galleria Design Center was the location of the off site event and we brought in Latin performers as well as a “Cirque Style” show. Miss Universe was from Latin America so we invited her for photo opportunities with the attendees. To promote the following meeting in L.A. we brought in Disney characters and themed out the final night event.
 

The Outcome:

Visa had the opportunity to introduce the bank presidents to their newest products and created relationships with customers they had previously only had contact with via phone and email. Sponsors were delighted with the quality time they had with attendees. We created a buzz about the next program that led to the highest attendance Visa had experienced. Visa hired California Host to manage the next program in Los Angeles. This is California Host's fifteenth straight year managing programs for Visa.

The Silicon Valley company needed help building a rapport with one of its biggest clients—a leading advertising agency. 

Our Solution:

To ensure the agency continued to place large ad commitments with them each year, marketing executives at Google wanted more face-to-face time with the firm's leaders. California Host developed and designed an event with the theme: "Innovating and Accelerating the Future of Advertising." We incorporated this message into every aspect of the event—from invitations, to room décor, to client gifts. We showcased America's greatest innovators—Edison, Bell and Disney— in life-size posters around the room, as well as exotic model sports cars, branded in Google colors to "accelerate" the event's theme.

HP/PRIM Mexico

Location: San Francisco / Napa

Client’s Needs:

The clients, who were coming to San Francisco for a meeting from Mexico, needed local assistance with hotel selection, translation services, meals, tours, and off-site events and activities. 

Our Solution:

Despite budget constraints that required multiple changes in the original proposal, we found creative solutions that provided our clients with the same experiences we initially planned, but at a scaled-back price. For example, we attended a San Francisco Giants game but sat in a less expensive section. Rather than having dinner at a pricey restaurant, guests received gift cards for food at the stadium. And instead of touring wineries in Napa, we took guests for a mini-tour of Yountville. Afterwards, they had free time in downtown Napa to experience wine country on their own before a fantastic group dinner!
 

The Outcome:

Guests had a great time at all the off-site events, and the meeting portion and translation services ran smoothly.

HP Asia Pacific and Japan

Client’s Need: 

Hewlett-Packard hired us to assist with the travel arrangements for employees from the company’s Asia, Pacific and Japan division, who were attending HP’s first Global Partner Conference in Las Vegas. They also needed our support with conference management (staffing, translation services, and on-site event managers), planning a series of networking events, client hospitality, and the off-site evening party.

Our Solution:

Two event managers traveled to Las Vegas for the week to ensure everything went according to plan. Airport arrivals ran smoothly. The conference was a big success, as were our networking events at various locations throughout the week. The off-site evening party was a particularly big hit among guests, whom we transported from the hotel lobby over to Chateau for an evening of cocktails, dancing, picture opportunities with showgirls, and prize giveaways from the Rat Pack.

The clients were very pleased with the week’s events. All the off-site venues were wonderful, and the conference proved to be a great success.

Our Solution:

Hewlett Packard, our client since 1971, was hosting the EMEA business partners to introduce new products and to hear a speaker from the corporate office. Client's Need:

Meeting Management Company to help design the Banking Conference from Latin America. During this five day conference they needed meeting planning, registration, production, exhibition, offsite events, transportation and activities and tours for the attendees and spouses.

Our Solution:

Hired 30 local bi-lingual speaking TD’s to assist the attendees in their native languages. We designed the program at The Beverly Hilton with off-sites at Paramount Studios, Peterson Automotive Museum. The Gala was held on the sound stage at Universal Studios featuring a night of Hollywood Entertainment. We custom designed “behind the scenes” tours of the highlights in Los Angeles to entertain the bank Presidents and their spouses. We utilized hallways and foyers to give the exhibition as much traffic as possible and created a consistent theme throughout the booths.
 

The Outcome:

The off-site events were all wonderful and unique in their own way.  Guests were impressed to party in these famous locations. The exhibition highlighted the client’s products with style and class. Registration was very smooth and allowed attendees an easy process from registration to the follow-up communications. The clients appreciated that we were able to make their VIP guests the stars for a few nights.
